Dolce Mohair is a wool blend yarn, embellished with mohair fibre, with a simple two-ply twist.
It is characterised by being a brushed yarn, slightly hairy, very light and very soft: it is precisely the brushing process that 'tears' the yarn with the aid of micro hooks that extract part of the fibre, creating a hairy effect.
The presence of acrylic guarantees excellent machine washability.

What is mohair wool and how is it produced?
A light and soft textile fibre of animal origin, with a length of between 100 and 150 mm and a fineness ranging from 10 to 90 microns, it is obtained from the fleece of the Angora goat, not to be confused with the yarn obtained from the hair of the Angora rabbit, which is called Angora.
The word MOHAIR derives from the Arabic mukhayyar, which means choice.
Thanks to its lustre, mohair fibre is particularly used in the production of yarns mixed with wool.
Furthermore, its considerable length and softness also allow it to be used for gauze-effect yarns.
The fleece is sheared without harming the animal and spun differently depending on the age of the animal from which it is taken. In fact, the fleece of young animals, called KID MOHAIR, is used for higher quality products.
Another factor that makes Mohair valuable is its ability to be dyed:
the colouring is uniform and long-lasting, well rooted in the fibre.
Mohair has always been a fundamental fibre in the world of knitting yarns which, after a period of neglect, has made a strong comeback on the catwalks of high fashion and in the tastes of consumers.
